Terms and booking conditions
These conditions apply to every Art Sand Castle booking: parties, events, fairs, groups and drop-off packs. By confirming a booking you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Art Sand Castle runs mobile sand art activities across Edinburgh and the Lothians. Contact: 07719 956135 (phone and WhatsApp), [email protected].
2. Supervision and care
We run the activity, not childcare. We do not provide babysitting or a crèche. Parents, carers or the organiser's staff remain responsible for the children at all times and must stay with them for the whole session.
- Children aged 3 and up can take part. Younger children may need a parent's help with peeling and sprinkling.
- At events, fairs and schools, children at our stall stay under the supervision of their parents, carers or the organiser's staff.
- Children's sessions are run by a PVG-checked team member.
Adults, care homes and disabled participants: we run the activity, not personal care. For sessions with older people, care home residents, disabled adults or anyone who needs support, the care home staff, carers or the organiser remain responsible for participants' care, supervision, mobility, medication, eating and drinking, and must be present throughout.
- Please tell us before the session about anything that helps us adapt the activity, such as limited hand movement, sight or hearing needs, or sensitivities.
- Adult participants who do not need support take part at their own discretion and should follow our simple safety guidance (section 3).
3. Materials and safety
- We use cleaned, child-friendly coloured sand and pre-printed sticky picture boards.
- Sand is not food. Please make sure children do not put sand in their mouths or rub it into their eyes, and tell us before the session about any allergies or sensitivities we should know about.
- Small items (picture boards, sticky paper, spoons) are not suitable for children under 3 without close adult supervision.
4. Space and setup
- We need a clear space of about 2x2 m, indoors or in a covered tent or gazebo.
- We arrive about 15 minutes before the session to set up and need about 15 minutes to pack down.
- We bring the table cover, bowls, sand and pictures, and we leave the space clean. A little loose sand is normal; we sweep up before we leave.
5. Prices
- Current prices are shown on our prices section. The price for your booking is the one we confirm to you in writing.
- Extra children and extra pictures are charged as shown on the prices section.
6. Booking, payment and cancellation
A booking is confirmed once we have agreed the date, place, number of children and price with you in writing (WhatsApp, text or email). Payment terms and cancellation terms are agreed in writing at the time of booking.
7. Designs
Picture designs change with our stock. If you would like a particular theme, tell us when you book. We will do our best, but we cannot guarantee a specific design.
8. Photos
- We may take photos at sessions and events. We use them only for our own marketing and advertising (our website, social media and printed promotional material). We never sell them or pass them to anyone else.
- We only use photos where a child can be identified with written consent from their parent or carer.
- Photos of finished pictures, hands and tables without identifiable faces may be used to show our work.
- If you do not want any photos taken or used, just tell us before or during the session, or contact us afterwards, and we will not use them (or will remove them).
9. If something goes wrong
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us on the day or contact us afterwards and we will try to put it right. Nothing in these conditions affects your statutory rights.
10. Privacy
We use your contact details only to arrange and run your booking. Our website uses cookieless, anonymous visitor statistics (no tracking cookies).
